Cannon Automotive Solutions, a division Cleveland-Cliffs Tooling and Stamping, has an immediate opportunity for a Controls Specialist in our Bowling Green, Kentucky Stamping Facility. The Controls Specialist is responsible for continuously improving automated systems to increase equipment efficiency in high-throughput operations. The ideal candidate will have prior experience overseeing and improving electrical and automated processes in a manufacturing facility, be self-motivated, and thrive in a fast-paced work environment. Summary of Responsibilities:

• Support Maintenance Management by communicating effectively and providing guidance to both the Electrical and Automation Teams

• Execute industrial mechanical knowledge of process automation, PLC programming, HMI improvements and robotic operations

• Ensure functional design specifications are understood and successfully delivered on time and within budget

• Involvement in new project engineering and controls programming  

• Utilize lean-manufacturing principles by improving process capability, reducing overall costs, and increasing capacity  

Minimum Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education in engineering, instrumentation, process control or electronics    

• 5 years of relevant experience related to industrial process automation

• Ability to prepare technical documentation such as shop drawings, operating manuals, training manuals, equipment reports, and employee assessments

• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

• Ability to lead and mentor Jr. associates; exercise a strong sense of teamwork    

Preferred Qualifications:

• 10 years of relevant experience related to industrial process automation
