The Maintenance Planner is a critical role within the Maintenance organization that identifies, collects, organizes, and documents work order job steps with operations (ie – tasks), resources, tools and materials required to safely and effectively execute a maintenance scope of work to improve equipment availability and improve maintenance efficiency. The Maintenance Planner facilitates maintenance productivity (ability to schedule effectively, quality of workmanship, utilization of labor, materials and services) to ensure safe and quality work execution occur through clear job plan development that utilizes current knowledge/documentation and improves documentation for future use.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the maintenance organization activities as related to the work management process

  • Planning: Alignment with Maintenance Coordinator and Maintenance Supervisor on planning priorities. Development of work scope of proposed job plans, identification of required materials and services with consideration given to availability to meet production schedule. Obtaining agreement on schedule adjustments or expediting options as necessary. Documentation of job plans as necessary to improve future planning efficiency.

  • Preparation: Tracking materials, services, and special tool availability to facilitate and synchronize the maintenance and production schedules.

  • Coordination: Coordinate and communicate the details of materials, services, and tools to optimize Plan Execution.

  • Accomplishment: Facilitate alignment on questions or concerns around the plan (ie – procedure, material, or special tool concerns)

  • Documentation: Collection of documentation improvement opportunities for review and approval with the Reliability or Work Management improvement Teams. Facilitation of the unused material returns process.

  • Support the Reliability Management Process through continuous improvement of asset and organizational master data quality and documentation.

  • For existing equipment, initiate updates or creation of documentation (SAP master data, procedures, P&IDs, etc) based on gaps identified from planning and execution of work orders

  • For new equipment, audit project documentation packages for completeness and ensure that they meet appropriate standards for documentation and master data

  • Recommend upgrades to master data and documentation standards

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment

  • HS diploma or GED required

  • Good communication skills (both oral and written)

  • Ability to develop and excel in a team environment

  • Time management and prioritization skills

  • Self-motivated with the ability to execute with minimal supervision

  • Knowledge of and experience with software tools such as: MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Sharepoint), SAP, MS Project

  • Knowledge of predictive maintenance techniques

  • Knowledge of equipment hazards, failure modes, and the complexity of various maintenance restoration techniques; to effectively build the necessary time, skills, tools, materials, activities and sequence requires to execute the scope of work of a work order in a way that facilitates the scheduling process
