Overview

Aerojet Rocketdyne’s growing Additive Manufacturing Technology Center located in Daytona Beach, FL is seeking a Senior Additive Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineer. This dynamic position will be responsible for process development, and process improvements of high profile Additive programs for volume production. The selected individual will be responsible for leading a passionate team to implement new process improvements, advanced process controls, and automation for the production of Additively Manufactured rocket engine components for Aerospace and Defense applications.

Essential Functions

  • Lead the qualification activities for the latest Additive equipment to be used in production of components used to support both Aerospace and Defense business sectors

  • Lead the implementation of new processes. This includes the setting up of work cells, design of applicable fixturing, and the training of appropriate personnel

  • Lead process improvements using the philosophies of lean manufacturing and 6 sigma

  • Collaborate with fellow teammates to generate solutions, provide status updates, and ask for help in achieving goals

    Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Materials or similar engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 6+ years of professional, post academic experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Prior experience with SolidWorks, Creo or similar CAD software

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. This includes the ability to write reports, generate specifications and requirements, proper documentation, as well as the ability to create and deliver presentations

    Desirable qualifications

  • Master's degree in Engineering, preferably mechanical

  • Experience with additive software Materialise Magics, EOS Print, NetFabb or similar

  • Experience with additive simulation software

  • Working knowledge of heat transfer and thermal dynamics with a focus on additive manufacturing

  • Working knowledge of laser welding theory, concepts and/or applications with a focus on additive manufacturing

  • Working knowledge of topological optimization modeling
