Job Summary:

This position is responsible for accurately performing the pre-services functions for outpatient diagnostic procedures and completing the scheduling, registrationand insurance verification process. Correctly identifies patient and maintains accurate patient information within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Collectsapplicable financial information including payment for the patient/guarantor. Obtain insurance information, benefits, and authorizations for services provided.Calculates insurance co-pay, deductible and co-insurance. Obtains medical and financial consents, secures proper signatures on required documents.Provides required information to patient concerning the Patient Rights, Privacy and Advance Care Directives. Schedules all outpatient procedures in a timelyand accurate manner, based on policy and protocol.

Qualifications

  • Reading and numerical competency

  • College business and/or accounting courses preferred

  • Minimum of one (1) year of patient scheduling and healthcare patient registration required

  • Require working knowledge of third party payer requirements, healthcare billing, and strong customer serviceexperience with demonstrated service excellence

  • Require the ability to prioritize and perform work in an organized, efficient and effective manner without constant supervision or direction

  • Must be able to handle detail work and work accurately and rapidly

  • Experience in basic computer, internet, data entry collections and medical terminology preferred

  • Must be able to calculate, accept variety of types of payment and process daily batches with accurate cash reconciliation
