Responsible for supporting management in the billing and collection of accounts receivable for inpatient and outpatient accounts, cash application and reconciliation and/or resolving customer service issues. Additional responsibilities may include notifying the patient and/or guarantor of liabilities, verifying insurance benefits, and assisting customers regarding billing questions.

Principal Accountabilities:

1. Assists the Supervisor/Manager in ensuring the day to day functions of the department are adhered to and completed.

2. Serves a liaison between the staff and department Management and should have their finger on the pulse of their team.

3. Answers inbound calls for all billing inquiries for all facilities.

4. Ensure insurance information is entered properly on accounts, process credit card payments, complete customer service forms for various customer service requests, ex; refunds, medical records, time payments and follow up.

5. Completes weekly backlog

6. Other duties as assigned

Required:

1. Associates or BA or the equivalent in certifications preferred

2. Applicants currently enrolled in college will be considered

3. Years of service in a healthcare setting will also be considered.

4.Minimum 5+ years experience working in a high call volume environment
