Web Developer/Digital Asset Lead

While there is a preference for someone located in Philadelphia PA, or Hammonton, NJ, this is a remote role with the flexibility to work virtually from your home anywhere in the Continental United States.

What the day will look like

The Web Developer is a pivotal role in developing benefits websites for our clients. Primarily utilizing the Kentico content management system (CMS), you will be responsible for building and maintaining client benefits websites. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of the software development lifecycle and possess a strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles. Framing the role responsibilities under the banner of 'What the day will look like"' helps make the ad more engaging and tangible.

  • Develop and maintain large-scale websites using the Kentico CMS or BenefitsQuest. Support other digital asset development (video, mobile app), as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, architect solutions, and implement features.
  • Implement best practices in software development, including version control, testing, and documentation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to website functionality, performance, and security. Triage escalations and provide after hours support as needed during peak production timeframe.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends, applying them to enhance development processes and deliverables.
  • Provide technical leadership and training to Communications Consultants and development resources to manage site content effectively.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Proficiency in Enterprise level Kentico CMS and ASP.NET development, with a minimum of 4 years of professional experience, with ability to create more custom sites.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Expertise in website responsive design and front-end programming techniques using HTML and CSS
  • Strong understanding of cross-platform/multi-tier web application development and object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to confidently join client calls and explain the technical aspects of a project to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience developing solutions that include modern frameworks (e.g. Next.js, Nuxt.js) and JavaScript libraries (e.g. React).
  • Experience with HTML/CSS implementation and development
  • Knowledge of source control systems, and proficiency in HTML, Stripo, Bitly, WordPress.
  • High proficiency with Windows Server (IIS) and experience with cloud platforms
  • Relational database design and programming expertise (MS SQL Server
  • Strong debugging skills combined with experience using performance and load-testing tools.
  • Professional experience working in Scrum and/or with Agile teams.
  • Experience with Google Analytics and microsite usage reporting

Nice to haves...

  • At least 5 years experience in .NET development (C#), ASP.Net MVC, .Net Core, ASP.Net Web API
    • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in .NET development.
  • Experience working in a senior technical architect/project lead role preferred.
  • Proven experience in a technical leadership role with strong organizational and communication skills, with a focus on driving results and fostering collaboration.
  • Ability to handle multiple competing projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Front-end web design and development (i.e. Photoshop)
  • Advanced troubleshooting for backend and 3rd party integrations.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $110,000 to $125,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
