The Team and Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accident Reconstructionist to join our Accident Reconstruction team. This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial, highly driven person with a well-rounded skill set to join a growing Accident Reconstruction team. The ideal person for this role will need to not only have a strong grasp of accident reconstruction but also be flexible and a strategic thinker able to take on a variety of tasks.

Job Responsibilities

• Engineering analysis of traffic accidents involving cars, trucks, tractor-trailers, motorcycles, and other vehicles.

• Perform on-site inspections of accident scenes and involved vehicles.

• Conduct ‘Black box’ data acquisition for passenger vehicles and heavy trucks, including Mack and Volvo.

• Consult with attorneys and insurance adjusters on matters in litigation or pre-litigation.

• Testify as an expert witness in depositions and trials.

• Investigate mechanical systems failures and accidents, including researching mechanical systems design and operation.

• Perform vehicle dynamics research, including full-scale vehicle testing and data acquisition.

• Research, write, and publish technical reports and peer-reviewed publications on topics relevant to accident reconstruction and forensic engineering.

  Required Qualifications

• Qualified candidates are required to have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, M.S. is preferred.

• Five to ten years of experience in vehicle accident reconstruction.

• Coursework and practical experience in accident investigation, analysis, reconstruction, report preparation and testimony.

• Practical mechanical experience, either professionally, through course work, or recreation.

• ACTAR certification and licensure as a professional engineer preferred.

• Experience in data acquisition systems for vehicle testing preferred.

• Willingness to travel.

• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience working on a team as a project manager.

• A desire to learn, excel and grow with us and within the profession.

  Physical and Mental Job Qualifications

• Ability to travel as needed, depending on project assignments.

• Ability to maneuver in and around an accident site.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Ability to drive to site locations.

• Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required by the work site.
