Job: Packaging Team Leader

Shift: Afternoon (1:30pm to 10pm)

Location: Royal Canin (Rolla, MO)

Royal Canin is looking for a Packaging Team Leader to join our exciting pet food business at one of our manufacturing plants in Rolla, Mo. We focus on the unique needs of cats and dogs. The Packaging Team Leader has many important responsibilities, including leading packaging associates to ensure they can perform their functions safely and follow quality and food safety procedures (including Food Defense) correctly and within the expected time. They are responsible for following a behavior-based safety program, managing all critical control points in the area, and pulling all finished products from the bins to the individual pack lines according to the production schedule. Monitor all pack lines for problems and help with issues, and setup of all the lines and pull quality samples. Additionally, they are to ensure new associates to the area are sufficiently trained to perform all work as expected. They ensure all hour-by-hour boards are updated, the FMOS escalation process is followed, and any Autonomous Maintenance Activities under the MSE structure are organized and performed as expected. Lastly, they are responsible for leading sanitation activities, validations, and signoffs occur during each sanitation.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all Mars and RC Safety Policies.
  • All PPE must be worn in compliance with requirements.
  • Enforce and respect the safety rules.
  • Stop any equipment if safety is in jeopardy and escalate the issue.
  • Be an actively engaged Associate regarding Behaviour-Based Safety Observations
  • Guarantee and apply ISO 14001 (Environment) and all related working procedures.
  • Comply with Quality and Food Safety Standards.
  • Follow all food safety requirements, rules, and standards (ISO 9001, 22000, Mars Standards, GMP/GHP, HACCP, security, pest control, etc.)
  • Clean and sanitize equipment according to food safety standards and ensure their teams perform work up to the standard.
  • Inspect packaging materials to ensure conformance with specifications.
  • Perform and record quality checks to standards.
  • Identify, document, and report any quality non-conformance.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work area in compliance with 5S. Perform operational cleanings.
  • On-shift and end-of-shift cleanings need to be completed and work validated.
  • Sanitation cleaning needs to be completed as scheduled and work validated.
  • Operational deep cleanings, as designated by the Manager or Coordinator, need to be completed.
  • Establish full knowledge and become qualified for all packaging operations (paper/plastic bag machines, sampling machines, on-process check-weigher, inkjet, labeller, wrappers, palletizers, screeners, scales, quality control, O2 readings, forklift operations, packaging materials, and finished goods).

Education and Professional Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
