Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Middle School Math Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about mathematics education, skilled in creating engaging lessons, and committed to supporting the academic and personal growth of middle school students. The Middle School Math Teacher will play a key role in fostering a positive and dynamic learning environment where students develop a deep understanding of mathematical concepts and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive, standards-based curriculum and lesson plans for middle school mathematics courses, ensuring alignment with educational standards and objectives.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to engage students in active learning and promote conceptual understanding of mathematical concepts.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students, providing additional support or enrichment opportunities as needed.
  • Foster a collaborative classroom environment where students are encouraged to ask questions, explore mathematical ideas, and work together to solve problems.
  • Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to students and parents/guardians.
  • Utilize technology effectively to enhance instruction, facilitate learning, and provide opportunities for students to explore mathematical concepts through digital tools and resources.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and academic progress, and communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student achievement and areas for growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum, share best practices, and support students\' academic and social-emotional development across subject areas.
  • Actively participate in departmental meetings, professional development opportunities, and school-wide initiatives to enhance teaching effectiveness and contribute to a positive school culture.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor\'s degree in Education, Mathematics, or related field (Required)
  • Teaching certification/license in Mathematics (Preferred).
  • Strong content knowledge and enthusiasm for teaching middle school mathematics, with the ability to make abstract concepts accessible and relevant to students.
  • Experience teaching mathematics to middle school students preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
  • Ability to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued, respected, and motivated to succeed.
  • Adaptability and creativity in designing engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development, including staying current with best practices in mathematics education and instructional technology.
